Staying on track

Starting a fitness journey can be anything but easy just starting out. How do you know what to eat? How many days to exercise? Sadly there is no one size fits all answer out there. We are all different and have different goals. A plan that works amazing for your friend could have no real effect on you and that can be discouraging. I meet a lot of people who have tried countless workout and meal plans they got from the internet and none of them work so they give up. Im here to tell you don't! You're already on the right track by giving those things a chance because it shows you want to change.

Now, why aren't they working out?

Plain and simple they weren't built for you. It easy to browse the internet and find hundreds of free plans but there is a reason they are free. Are they tailored to your goals? Do they know if you have any injuries or imbalances? Do they know your food restrictions? Are they there to give you motivational support? No, because they are generic plans that someone created real fast as a PDF and put it out there. An huge example I see are "Build a Booty in 30 days" IMPOSSIBLE! Yes it looks very tempting and once those 30 days are up and you haven't obtained the results the plan says you give up. If it was that easy we would all be walking around with a bubble butt. You think its your fault you didn't achieve that outcome you were promised. I'm here to tell you that you are not to blame. That plan wasn't tailored to YOU.

Making progress no matter what your goal is takes patience and dedication. You will not see results over night but, you will begin to feel better, more energy, and then come the physical changes. You might think to yourself "im not going to see results for 3 month?!?!?! I might as well not even do it thats to long." Fast forward 3 months and your still in the same position you were because you didn't want to start. The best thing you can do before taking on any change in you life is analyze your mindset. Why are you wanting to change? How will it benefit you? These simple question will help you decide how well you will adapt to this change

Staying on track, especially with something you're not used to doing can be challenging at times. I always tell me clients when they are feeling lost to think of their "why." The only way you will stick to a plan is if you are doing it for yourself. Not you cousins wedding, your boyfriend/girlfriend, or any other outside reason it has to be YOU! There will be days when you don't want to stick to your meal plan or you don't feel like going to the gym, we all have them! It will be your mindset that gets you back on track, nothing else. Take everything one step at a time and you will look back and see all the progress you've made because you didn't give up.

You are one of a kind so don't compare your journey to anyone else.

Setting yourself up for failure is what a lot of people do without even realizing it. Scheduling to go to the gym 5 times a week when in reality you can only find 3 days. When you are missing those 2 other days you feel down like you didn't accomplish your goals for that week. Set yourself up to win! If your schedule is looking busy for the week plan out a few days where you have 45min-1hour to yourself and crush a workout! You do not have to go everyday to see change, you just have to want to change and try your best. Same goes with eating, setting a target goal of 1200 calories a day is caziness. You need food! Food is fuel! Figure out your set macros for your goals (i can assist) and aim for that. Track your food. If you miss a day SO WHAT, we are human. The way to fix that is hope right back on track and forget about it. One small trick that I do is i post every single thing i eat on my instagram. What does that do? It holds me accountable and shows others eating healthy doesn't have to suck.

So, if you feel like you can't get started or you keep "falling off" take a set back and analyze your mind. Figure out why you are doing all this in the first place and start again. You body is capable of so many things!
